"A Source Of Inspiration" – See
Our "Meet Moapa Valley" Videos
Have you seen our "Meet Moapa Valley" video series? The
comments are already coming in. Our first video features two
teachers, Kim Delgadillo and Walter White. Kim and Walter teach
music at Moapa Valley High School and Mack Lyon Middle School,
respectively. One former student of Kim's commented on our video
and wrote, "Ms. D has been a source for inspiration in my
family. All of my siblings learned music under her and I think I
can speak for all of us when I say we are better human beings for
having been associated with her."
As that comment shows, Kim and Walter are both treasures to our
community. They are two friends who love teaching our children to
make music and who are invested in the lives of our young people.
Thank you, Kim and Walter!

the impact they've had on your life on MVT's Facebook page or YouTube channel. Stay tuned for other videos

Make WiFi Work For
You – Ways To Improve WiFi Coverage In
Do you want to get the best WiFi experience possible? Here are some tips
that can help make your WiFi go
Suppose you want to talk to Bob, who can’t hear you because he's
standing at the far end of your home. You ask Sally to go to the
middle of your house and to repeat everything you say to Bob and
then repeat back everything that Bob says to you. This is how a WiFi Extender works—it boosts your signal so
it reaches every part of your home.
Pros: Cheap and easy to install.
Cons: The speed of the device connected to the WiFi Extender is less than half the speed of
devices connected directly to the router.
2. WiFi Mesh
Using our Bob and Sally analogy, we would have multiple Sallys in the room and they would all
communicate with each other to figure out the best way to talk to
Bob. If we needed better coverage to talk to Bob, we'd just add
another Sally. The best WiFi Mesh
systems have Sallys that can listen and
talk at the same time. For this feature, you'd look for what is
known as a Full Duplex Mesh system or one that has two radios—one
for listening and one for talking. If the mesh system is Half
Duplex or has a single radio, it must listen to what you have to
say and then repeat it to Bob, much like the WiFi
Pros: Generally simple to install. If you need more
coverage, just add another WiFi Mesh
device. The Full Duplex system with an appropriate number of mesh
devices will provide consistent coverage throughout your home.
Cons: If you have thick walls or metal in your walls, the
coverage will suffer or may not work. Also, Full Duplex systems
3. WiFi Mesh over Powerline
This is similar to a Full Duplex WiFi
Mesh, except that the communication takes place over your house's
power lines. You simply plug additional routers into your home's
power outlets and they should provide coverage. Just like a mesh
system, these devices figure out the best way to talk to Bob.
Pros: Same as with the Full Duplex WiFi
Mesh system, except without the wall limitations. The cost may be
slightly lower than a WiFi Mesh. MVT
sells this system and can help you set it up.
Cons: It doesn't work in every situation. Sometimes
interferers in your home power system can mess with the signal
along with distance and power subpanels.
